John bought me a Tree Peony for Mother's Day. It should be a really cool plant in a few years, it will grow to 5 foot wide and 54" tall with at least 100 flowers blooming at the same time. This one is deep purple, the gal at the nursery was upset that we were buying it, she wanted to watch it bloom. Now I just have to find the perfect spot to plant him.

I hope you have better luck with your tree peony than I have had trying to grow them in my garden. I've planted four of them over the last few years and don't have a single plant left to brag over. All of them froze out on me... even after mulching. For what they cost; I wish I would have taken more care. BUT... I've been told you have quite the green thumb so that right there is a huge bonus. So good luck!smile
How funny - I bought one today. It sounds like the same color. I can't wait to see it in a few years. I have heard they are awesome.
