Miss Reaghan 1 year - Sneak Peek

Little Miss Reaghan is turning one.  I don't think her grandma is ready for her to turn one but she's doing it...... and pretty darn well I might add.

Reaghan's mommy brought along some items she wanted to use in the photos.  This tutu along with no shirt and Reaghan's great, great grandmothers pearls.  Dad wasn't impressed with the idea but of course what mom says wins.

She has the cutest curls in the back so of course we had to freeze them in photos.

Little antique look for those antique pearls.

Reaghan has the bluest eyes ever.

And the cutest darn family.  Doesn't Reaghan look so comfortable up there?

Love this look on Miranda's face.

It was time to take a break and play with her book and she sat right down like this.  Grandma says "I love when she sits like that" so of course I have to make sure Grandma can always remember the way she sits at age one because we all know these little ones don't sit for long after they start to walk.

She is quite the girl with silly little faces and this was a face of "I'm done with these pictures"

Thank you Miranda, you're family is beautiful and I had a great time catching up with you on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Three Sweet Boys = Sneak Peek

I've been taking photos of this family for a few years now and was very excited when I got the call they were expecting and would let me know when their new baby arrived.  Well he's here, another sweet little boy to join this family.

They've been a bit busy building a new house, moving over the holidays and getting ready for the birth of Oliver.  The older brothers couldn't be more excited about their little brother.  Beau the older boy is all about pictures and telling me everything about Grandma's cows.  While mom was feeding Oliver I learned his cow is named Peanut Butter, Max has a cow named Honey and then there was a Black cow without a name.  Well him and I gave that cow to Oliver and named him Chocolate, I hope you don't mind Grandma.  :)

Max had a scratch on his forehead that was from his brother and I could photoshop it out but memories between brothers and meant to be remembered.  We all know there will be many more.

Their bedroom was gorgeous and had tons of light.

Daddy trying to comfort Oliver in between pictures, entertaining the boys, and making pizza.

Momma and her sweet little boy having a moment together.

Brand new babies make the best faces and what's better than to capture them in photos.

A fun collage for the new family.

Thank you for letting me share your Saturday morning, enjoy your new house and your growing family.

A few more of Kayla

I could have put about 30 more on here tonight.

This is the Kayla I know, big ole' belly laugh

There is something about a dancer that makes me want to try the soft effects.

The snow princess needs to be in the snow.  It was a bit cold for point shoes and bare shoulders so we warmed her up a bit.

I have one more I may share later on, it's going to be a busy week and weekend so I'll hopefully have some time to post again this week.

Kayla the Dancer

I've known Kayla for as long as I can remember.  She started dancing at age 4 and has performed in so many Nutcracker's that I'm sure she could do all the parts in her sleep.

For 2012 she was a busy girl with all the costume changes and did the solo.  I've had the pleasure of attending her shows and she amazes me with her talent.  It's very natural for Kayla to dance and her family is certainly very proud of her.

Before she takes back all her costumes she wanted to remember them so we took a few from each.  There are so many favorites I'm having a hard time narrowing them down so I'm sharing only 2 with you tonight and more will be coming later this week.

I think the most beautiful moment is when Kayla puts on her shoes.  She didn't really understand this but let me capture the moment anyway.  I'm sure she has put on those shoes a million times and to her it's not the fun part of the whole dance.

Dance like nobody's watching
Love like you've never been hurt
Sing like nobody's listening
Live like it's heaven on earth

Day 5 - Week of Love

I'm sure you're all tired of this week of love, I have to admit I'm a bit sorry I promised a photo a day of love cuz it's tough to do.  Thank goodness my wonderful hubs got me flowers today so I had something else to take a photo of.  I'm not a decorator for the holidays person so that leaves me with "making" a photo every night along with "taking" it.

But who doesn't love tulips..... with a water droplet on it and a fun curly leaf.

It was a nice surprise to get the flowers at work from John.  I didn't expect them at all so that makes them that much more special.

John said I was lucky to get them.  I'm thinking hummmmmmm what did I do wrong?

While at the flower shop....

Florist - "want to take them with you?"
John - "no have them delivered to my wife"
Florist -  "Julie"
John - "no Connie"
Florist - "oh I get those two mixed up all the time"

For those who don't know the family I have a cousin Julie who many people think we look alike.  Apparently they even mix up our husbands.   I'll take the compliment anytime to look like Julie, makes me smile every time it happens.

I seen Julie one day a few weeks ago and she told me this story of her at Walmart.  Julie goes through the checkout....

Checkout girl - "weren't you just here"
Julie - "no"
Checkout girl - {looking at the door}, "you were just here"
Julie - "no I wasn't"
Checkout girl - {still straining her neck to look out the door and seeming very confused}
Julie - {just giggling}

I must have just went through the same checkout aisle, seriously we don't look that much alike anymore.

Happy Valentine's Day, I hope this day finds you blessed with family love and warm memories.

Day 4 - Week of Love

I had a little help with my love photo tonight.  Mr. Maxwell kept stealing the candies but he did give kisses for them so of course I let him.

I did get a few without his little stealing fingers.

Day 3 - Week of Love

Good night for wine.

My sister Gayle came over and was surprised to find John and I drinking our supper.
Doesn't everyone do that??   Oh don't worry we did have supper, John ate pretzels and I had BBQ chips.

Did a test.  I read about achieving balance in photos.  To keep the photo balance you place the subject(s) equal distance from the edges of the photo.  Like this.

But my normal goto shot would be to off set the subject.

Still don't know which one I like better, how about you?

Day 1 - Week of Love

February is the month of Love but I'll be doing a week of Love.

Mally and Maxwell were over today and we made hearts with folded paper and then taped them to a string.  Mally thought it was great.  I made her hold the hearts up so long she got tired and started to ignore me and watched tv instead.  I stood her in front of the patio doors and blew out the background.  She was so cute in her pink sweater and fun multi-fabric skirt.  Her hair is slowly growing back, it took 3 years to grow that hair and with her it might take 6 years to grow it back.

I had the kids hold candy hearts in their hands for me to take the picture but Maxwell had another agenda..... he was licking it as fast as I could pull his hand down and place it where I wanted it.  I giggled so hard and he did it that much faster so finally if you can't win with a 1.5 year old you might as well join them.

Then I laid the heart on his leg and told him not to touch it until I said he could.  I would slowly move my hand off the heart and he would start to grab for it.  I said "no Max - no touch" and he would back off then I'd move and he'd start to grab.  I was laughing so hard cuz I felt like I was training a puppy not to eat the treat until allowed.  Somehow I think training a puppy would be easier than Max.

Happy Day 1 of Love Week

Curious Deer

Went for a Jeep ride around the woods and the deer are so confused with what is coming down the trail that they just stand there and look at us.

Hillside View

A little drive today resulted in a wintery photo. If I have the chance to go back while it's snowing or after a heavy snowfall I will.
