Maternity Photos

Maternity session scheduled for Saturday, the new mom is ready for them, we've been planning for what look she wanted with baby #2.  The date was set in plenty of time, still another couple weeks before baby's arrival.  I talk with her on Friday at 2:00ish and everything is set, she feels that this time is more what "she" wants than with baby #1.  She's done her homework, she's picked out everyones clothes and locations.

I am excited to come back from my holiday break and get back into taking pictures and making others happy.  I've got everything ready for the early morning shoot.

And then.......... this happened.........

Yep she called me on Friday night at 10:15 to let me know her baby boy was here.  Baby #2 didn't waste any time coming into this family.  Of course now I'm so excited to see him and mommy that I can't sleep.  My restless night came up with a plan to help document this moment in their family scrapbook.

I used my free time in the morning to buy a couple balloons and continue with mom's plan.  I met a man walking his dog while taking pictures of the balloons and he says "baby already showing who's boss?"  Yep guess so.

It was a bit early to be stopping at the hospital to deliver the balloons so I decided to alert their neighbors and any passing cars that a new baby boy has joined this family.

Later that morning I did go visit and dad meets me in the hallway and says
"busy this morning?"
"who me, why?"
"who else would it be"

Pretty tough to hide my big ole' smile

This story might make mom a bit sad now that she didn't get her maternity pictures but this little boy will hear the story over and over again and what a fun story to tell.

And he is sooo cute.  Can't wait to spend more time with him....... and mom.

Week Three - Curves

Week Three is Curves

This weekend we had another beautiful snow fall that buried us with another 4-5".  John had to work on Saturday morning and my plan was to paint the one bedroom upstairs and then that dang snow had to go ahead and distract me.

With this week being curves I was on the hunt for anything curvy, well that's after I shoveled the apron off and when he got home he apologized for saying "my wife will never shovel" at work this morning..... hummmm yeah I got cha' honey.

shhhhh don't tell him the only reason I shoveled is cuz it was so nice outside and I needed to let the paint dry.

John wanted to get in on this weeks photos...... curves...... but I won't let him

Snowy Saturday Morning

Enjoy these snowy pictures as much as I did taking them.

The neighbors house among the frosty trees.  No they don't live on a farm or have silos in their back yard but the next neighbor does.

POTW Week 2 - Cold

I really did pick the words for this month right in the beginning.  Picking Cold for this week just happens to work out.  With the temperature being -11 this morning says cold without a photo.  I'm not a fan of cold weather but I usually don't complain about it either.  I like the change in seasons and I also like living here near family.  I've learned a long time ago..... if you're going to complain do something about it, and this I cannot change, so I accept.

Here are my cold photos for the week.

As I was taking the photos of the ice I heard snowmobiles crossing the lake.  We used to snowmobile with the kids all the time...... now that says COLD to me.  I'll stay home (or at the cottage) and have a warm lunch and hot cocoa for you when you return.

Enjoy your week and be smart when those temps get to -30 with the wind chill.

Snowy Up North

We've went up north a couple times in December just to check everything out and the minute we walk in we crave summer and campfires.  There hasn't been a weekend for us to spend up there since November and this weekend was one of the same, just enough time to drive up and check things over and head back.  Our trip up just before Christmas was so beautiful, there is so much snow up there it's ridiculous.  Since I didn't bring my camera (I know what was I thinking) I used my cell phone to document the amount of snow on the deck.  This is our view as soon as we walk in

but by the time we leave John has it all shoveled off since we know this is the start of winter and all that snow gets pretty darn heavy on those decks.

I headed to town for a few items and couldn't believe how beautiful all that snow was so I couple more cell phone pics.

Jesse was going to be coming up for a weekend of snowmobiling with some buddies so I had to take a picture of the amazing trails he'd be riding on.

So I'm back from shopping and I really wanted to sled down the hill.  It's steep and snowy so it should work right?  I plop the sled down, jump on top of it and get a face full of snow as I slide off the sled and it stays there.  That snow is waayyy to deep to break a path so my loving husband (even though he thinks I'm a crazy nut) shovels me a path.  Like his shoveling off all the sidewalks and decks wasn't enough.

Here's the path and it works awesome, of course I ran my cell battery to nothing so there aren't any pictures of us sledding.  Just imagine two crazy nuts sledding down this sleep hill on a plastic sled.  It was great but the walk up was horrific and of course I went down a gazzillion times.

Today we drove up to check things out again and I remember the camera this time.  It was a nice day considering we are suppose to get temperatures in the twenty's tomorrow.... that would be in the below zero twenties.

I love this cottage next door all tucked back in the trees.  We've met the lady that owns this once so far, she is one of the daughters from our cottage owners.  They bought this land from their parents and built the cottage tucked back a ways from their parents house.  She's now getting up there in age and her husband passed away last year so she doesn't come up but two, three times a year.  She's a great neighbor to have :)

The sledding hill after another foot or so of snow.

Of course I walk down by the river I have to come back up..... the snow is up to my knees now so it's a bit of a work out but totally worth it.

My tracks back up the hill

Here's my praying for summer photo.
Our fun patio lights are right here waiting for us.

Everything is going well up north, it's fun to take a break and go check on it.  We rearranged some furniture today so our view to the river just got better.  As we sat and drank a beer watching the snowy outdoors we really dreaded coming back home but we did.  There are lots more winter weekends to go up and enjoy the whole weekend.

Snow Baby A

Baby A is 9 months already and couldn't be any cuter.  I don't know what this family would do without him, he was meant to be here he was meant to be the most important person to his mommy and daddy, he was meant to be stinkin' cute at anything he does.  So let's just say as he crawls around the house getting into trouble he's so stinkin' cute I can't help but giggle at him and let him do whatever he wants. I'm the grandma and I spoil him!!

So New Years Eve I had a half day off work and texted Adam to bring me little A, of course I had lots that I could do at home but spending time with A sounded much better.  Adam was out the door and I quickly took a few photos of Baby A as a snowman.

I started with the scarf and buttons, he didn't like it but he still smiled at me.

Then I added the hat and nose and he went cross eyed and pulled off the nose

And then the hat

I was pretty persistent and putting it back on but kept the nose off since he really hated that and his eyes crossed every time I tried it.   I didn't get any without him trying to take the hat off but I think they are perfect with him holding it.

Then he cried, but you know me I like pictures of crying babies.

Not touching the hat but has the just done crying face.

Then we did a couple nice pictures of him to document the 9 month milestone.

He loved sitting in this chair all by himself, he would get to the end of it and tease me with leaning over.  Baby A, Grandpa and I had a great New Years Eve.  Grandpa got steak and shrimp while Baby A got peas and applesauce.  Yum, Yum

Happy New Year to all of you and may 2014 bring you joy and happiness.
