Family Sneak Peek

I know this mom has been patiently waiting for her sneak peek of her handsome little man as he turned 18 months already.

Thank you Shannon for your patience, your family is just perfect and I truly enjoy documenting those milestones for you.

Melanie Mae Frey is here

Yesterday I got an email from Lynn saying she felt a few twinges so be on alert to pick up the kids.  Nothing to worry about yet since she didn't really know if they were meant to be anything.  About 30 minutes later she texted and said..... you might not make your photo session tonight.  I suggested I come get the kids now vs waiting till later and she didn't agree but I then called her and she said it was fine but she thought it might be a false alarm but I was okay taking the risk of coming home without them.

As I'm driving she is sending me text messages but my truck prevents me from getting them while I'm driving.  It takes me about 45 mins to get there and as I'm driving down their street Jesse is running down the road to the neighbors.  OH NO I said.  I made sure I parked far away from their garage and Lynn walked out and said Jesse was going for back up they needed to leave NOW.  The kids and I sat on the sidewalk and watched them pull away.   They have a bit of a drive but I'll let Lynn fill you in on those details when she gets back to blogging.

I can tell you that this baby girl didn't waste anytime once she decided it was time she was in a big ole' hurry.

The next morning we headed over to check out baby Melanie Mae.  Grandma Great came with us, she loves her babies and she's been saying a prayer every night since we knew Lynn was pregnant and if you know that story it's been a long time.  Melanie is her 18th great grandchild.

Grandpa John got his snuggle time in.

She might be the cutest baby I seen today....

Of course we all need to see her close up to check out those lips, nose, and eyelashes.

Mally wanted a picture taken with her baby sister, I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Being a grandparent is pretty darn special and we've been blessed with 6 beautiful healthy grandchildren and we thank the good Lord everyday for all of them.

Senior season is starting

Class of 2015 is getting ready for their senior photos and this young man snuck in before I take the month of July off.  The day was beautiful until 30 minutes before our appointment..... then the sky fell but thankfully it quit and the sun came back out again.

The boys are usually pretty proud of their hunting area and this is about sharing their likes and personality.  Cody wasn't much of a smiler until we got into his element.

Brought out his deer head.....

Put on his camp and dried off his truck.  The sky was pretty amazing after the rain storm and we were pretty high up to view the dept of trees and clouds.  This might just be my favorite.

Beautiful Weekend Up North

Summer feels like it's slipping away from us so quickly this year.  It may have something to do with the cold snowy winter we had and feeling of spring not getting here quickly enough.  I have a Project Life Album for our first year at the cottage and this year is actually right in line with last year.  This weekend was forecasted to not be very nice but the lawn needed to be mowed so we headed up on Friday night.  We had supper with Gayle and Bill and got home a bit late...... errrrr I mean early.
Saturday morning the plan was to mow lawn and then go for a kayak ride with Gayle and Bill.  As I'm relaxing on the deck skeeter free, John is dressed like it's 20 below so no skin is exposed.  There were 20 kayaks that paddled by, this is the coolest sight to see, all those fun colors and everyone having a great time.

Most of these photos were taken with my cell phone so I'm sorry for the crappy grain.

Gayle and Bill were there shortly after they went through and we patiently waited for John to finish.   Then it was our turn to float down the river.

We start out by some small rapids and of course we all have to go through them to start our adventure.  I normally don't take a camera or cell phone with me, not that I'm afraid of getting them wet (tipping over a kayak would take a bit of work to do) but I just like the un-hooked relaxing trip with nature.  But this weekend was a bit different.... we are waiting for a call about Frenchie's arrival so my cell is with me.

John coming through the rapids.

Gayle and Bill behind me.

The morning had started out really cloudy with no sunshine but when we hit the water the sun came out and gave us this beautiful day.  The clouds were amazing.

A normal paddle down the river to our cottage is about 1 hour...... unless you paddle around and enjoy the trip...... 2 1/2 hours later we arrived....... starving because we were in such a hurry we all forgot about eating.

So that means it's pontoon time to the bar for a burger and more floating a few hours of this beautiful day away.

We got home late once again but it was early enough for a campfire and as my dad would say "a night cap"

Sunday morning we still have no signs of baby coming so it's back out in the kayaks for John and I.  This time we paddled up stream about half was and floated back.

Another amazing beautiful sunshiny day.

Since the trip up river was a bit of a work out on the way back there wasn't a time that we paddled..... it was a natural float all the way back.

We loaded everything up and put everything away, took showers to be ready to head home and then the river sucked us back in again.  I went down to take some pictures with my camera and some how the chairs got put into the water and I had to hold it down for a few hours so the current wouldn't float it away.

Skeeters have been bad but this weekend they were bearable and when your in the water there aren't any.

Last year our first time in the water was during the 4th of July weekend so we are a bit ahead of schedule and the water is really, really nice right now.

This weekend there was no baby, she's taking her sweet time and that's okay we'll wait for her but in the mean time I could take this view in all day long.

Mally is 5, Max is 3

Before that new baby comes we needed to take these two pictures.  Mally is 5 and Max is 3 and they are so excited for their baby sister to come.......soon

Mally is our little princess girl who loves all things lace, frill, & sparkly.  But give her sticks, mud and 4 wheelers and she'll be the one in a tutu covered in mud and loving every minute of it.

Max is out little Emmerich boy, he seriously makes me go back to my childhood days.... if you want to know what my brothers looked like just look at Max.   John always says he can see my brothers and my cousin Julie's son Andy in him.  Those Emmerich genes are hard to knock out.

Give Max sticks and he won't put them down for nothing and when he does and I can't find the exact same one he blames me and makes me look until I find it.

They are seriously best friends

This looks just like brother Randy, his son Beau and Adam all rolled into Max

Elly is 11

Miss El had a birthday last month and we finally got our schedules together to take her pictures.  She is growing up so quickly and become a young lady.  It was a very windy, rainy and cold night and I called El to tell her it wasn't a very good night for pictures.  She was so disappointed that I gave into her and we did them anyway.  We only got caught in the rain once but her and I had a great time.

The next day she got all that hair chopped off.  So of course Grandma will take them again and she knows that.
